gorgeous is just the tip of the iceberg. Banks wears the hats of television producer,
actress, supermodel, daytime talk show host and prime time reality show judge. She is
America's own, born in Los Angeles, Calif. Her life is an American triumph. In the
following paragraphs, her triumph will be celebrated.
Her initial entrance into the modeling world was not well received. She did not get
accepted to the first modeling agency she auditioned for. Banks did not let first
experiences stop her. She believed in herself. She kept pushing to reach her goal and
her determination paid off immensely. Banks, got signed to, Elite (currently the one of
the biggest modeling agency in the world).
She has enjoyed an excellent modeling career. She has graced the covers for top
fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Elle. She has
appeared in print ads and or runway shows for many famous companies such as:
Tommy Hilfiger, Covergirl, Nike, Perry Elis and Pepsi. She became a part of history by
being the first African-American female on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit
Issue, as well as first African-American female on the cover of GQ magazine and first
African-American female on the cover of Victoria's Secret magazine. She is the recipient
of VH1's Supermodel of the Year Award, 1997. She has made the list twice for People
magazine's annual 100 Most Beautiful issue. Her modeling career was very successful
indeed, however Banks would not settle for being a supermodel. She strove to achieve
victories in other career paths.
She experimented with acting. She was cast in many television and movie projects
including: the films "Higher Learning," "Love and Basketball," "Life Size" and the
television series "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air."
Now, Banks lends her talents to two highly successful shows being, "America's Next Top
